The movie depicts a rotating spacetime hypercube, projected from 4 dimensions on to the 2 dimensions of the screen in the same way as the rotating 4D hypercube. And in fact, I have identified a few bugs and new ideas that I need to implement in VRMath2 Editor. My purpose of doing this hypercube is to test the CoordinateInterpolator for animation. I have not yet to write teaching and learning ideas for this, but I think students will be interested in creating and programming, and at the same time learnt about 3D coordinate system and structure of cubes. Only if you are interested, you can download and try the Logo program here: hypercube.logo.įrom doing this, the mathematical concepts about zero to n-dimension space can be explored. You can click on it to toggle the spin effect on and off. Snake food aka target is the green rotating hypercube frame. Snake head is the yellow hypercube frame in the center of the screen. I have also added a small sphere at the center of the hypercube. Snake tail are red-to-white-to-blue hypercube frames connected to each other and to the head. You can see below how the 4D cube was created from 0-D point to 1-D line, to 2-D square, to 3-D cube, then to 4-D Tesseract. I tried in VRMath2 Editor to create a 4D cube. You may also study in more depth on Wikipedia, where you can find the mathematical n-dimensional hypercubes. One of the most famous 4D cubes is perhaps the 4D Cube building in Paris. The 4th dimension here is not about time, but the beauty of the abstract geometrical dimensions that exist in the mathematical world. It is provided "as is" without express or implied warranty.I am always fascinated by the visualisation of 4th dimension or even n-th dimension in our 3D space. The Hyper screen saver displays a rotating 4-dimensional object (hypercube or 4-simplex) projected onto 3-space using a 4-D perspective transformation. XENVIRONMENT to get the name of a resource file that overrides the global resources stored in the RESOURCE_MANAGER property. Environment DISPLAY to get the default host and display number. These should be smallįloating-point values (less than 0.05 works best.) Default: xy=0.01, xz=0.005, yw=0.01. xw float -xy float -xz float -yw float -yz float -zw float The amount that the cube should be rotated around the specified axis at each frame of the animation, expressed in radians. Some of the faces have only two of their border-lines drawn in the color0 color -color1 color -color2 color -color3 color -color4 color -color5 color -color6 color -color7 color The colors used to draw the line segments bordering the eight faces of the cube. observer-z int How far away the observer is from the center of the cube (the cube is one unit per side.) Default 5. delay microseconds How much of a delay should be introduced between steps of the animation. After a standard channel whitening step, the noiseless received data vectors describe an m-cube, which is a rotated version of the hypercube defined by the. ![]() Legal values are the name of a visual class, or the id number (decimal or hex) of a specific visual. ![]() At some point, the blue face passes through the side of the red one, and eventually pulls all the way through. visual visual Specify which visual to use. As the hypercube begins to rotate, the blue face moves to the side and both begin to become distorted as one side moves closer to the light and another farther away. install Install a private colormap for the window. mono If on a color display, pretend we're on a monochrome display. Options hypercube accepts the following options: The hypercube program displays a wireframe projection of a hypercube which is rotatingĪt user-specified rates around any or all of its four axes.
